Sol, 2205. Seventeen years into their civil war, Earth and Mars are still in conflict. Neither side seems to want to risk going all out, so the battles happen at the edges, over convoys, assets and refineries. However, someone might be scheming a dark plot to plunge the entire Sol System into all out war...

INSPIRED BY THE SPACE SHOOTERS OF THE DOS ERA

Strike Wings is a top-down space combat game built from the ground up as an ode to the DOS classics. You will find beautiful fan service to games like Solar Winds and Hell Fighter for example. Fly a fighter through a fleet battle, give orders to your wingmen, or take command from a destroyer's bridge. Weapons and engines can fail, damaged ships can catch fire, and surviving a dogfight sometimes means limping back to a carrier for a second chance. Choose from seven AI difficulty levels and direct your squadron through a quick and expansive command wheel. Rescue ejected pilots, deal with hull breaches and ammunition fires, and keep an eye on the approaching storm while you're fighting.

A DISTINCT ARTSTYLE

Weapons fire, explosions, engine trails, and shimmering shields illuminate the darkness like strokes of light across a pitch black canvas.

The visual identity of Strike Wings is built around this artistic philosophy: space is the canvas, and light is the paint. Every bullet or planet, every burning wreck or biome. every flicker of a cooling bullet case is deliberately crafted to transform the emptiness of space into a breathtaking spectacle of color, contrast, and motion.

DEEP AND PERFECTLY TUNED GAMEPLAY

For Strike Wings, we've build the battle engine from the ground up, with squadron based AI decisions. You will find wingmen intelligent, listening to your commands, trying to have your back. You will find enemies wanting to revenge their fallen teammates, or trying to snipe your carriers from behind you. The AI will make smart decisions based on it's circumstances, from fleeing the battle to trying to ram you down as a last resort.

All ships have a deep affliction system. All subsystems can be damaged, repaired, ammo can run out, hull can breach, ammo can cook off, fuel can leak and much more. Press a charge when you sense weakness, or escape when your ship or wingmen are suffering.

We tuned the combat in Strike Wings to absolute perfection over 1000s of hours of playtesting and simulations. It's fast, but not too fast. It's bordering arcade, it's never boring, it rewards skill and risk taking and we are confident to say that its absolutely best in it's class. It's the main aspect of the game, so it better be good. We hope you like it. 
Do you find combat too tough? Try Anvil mode for double armor, or make the AI more forgiving by overriding the AI difficulty in a series of config settings you can use to tune Strike Wings combat to your liking.

• THE OUTER DARK, a 15 story campaign following the Terran side of the war. Future releases will include the Martian side campaign and the Consortiums campaign. 

• 200+ scenario's and a full scenario builder.

• 60+ selectable ships, from full blown dreadnoughts to fast interceptor fighters.

• CO-OP PLAY: two-player local split-screen co-op support, as well as full local LAN support for playing with an against friends.

• QUICK PLAY, generated RANDOM BATTLES and 1V1 DUEL

• ONSLAUGHT mode: defend your starbase against increasingly stronger enemy attacks.

• SIMULATE: choose a battle and watch the AI fly both sides.

• A FIGHTER FORGE, where you can try building your custom fighter.

• THE GARAGE, with unlockable pilot plates and titles, all cosmetic and based on fractal art.

• LIMITED STEAM MULTIPLAYER SUPPORT; for up to 24 players. No dedicated servers (it's impossible for our budget, but you can host a game yourself or browse for open games). 

Ps: try the local co-op modes if you like. We loved it the most in playtesting. It's a real blast.
