The Book

The Book turns the e-books you already own into 3D books. Hand it an EPUB, a PDF, CBZ, CBR, a wall of plain text or a folder of pictures, and it gets bound into a proper book — cover, spine, and pages you turn in a quiet reading room built for one thing only: reading.

Bring your own books

The Book ships with no books of its own — it is made for your collection.

• EPUB — chapters with their illustrations; pictures become full-page plates

• PDF — every page of the document becomes a page of the book

• TXT — plain text typeset into comfortable, readable pages

• CBZ, CBR — comic archives, read as an open comic

• HTML — saved web pages and single-file e-books, typeset into comfortable, readable pages

• Image folders — scans, manuscripts and photo books

Reading Features

• Guided Reading – Move the mouse to the right to move the camera along a predefined reading path from top to bottom and from left to right. When you reach the end of a page, the next page opens automatically. Move the mouse to the left to move backwards along the reading path.

• Auto Reading – The camera automatically moves along the reading path.

• Reading Speed Adjustment – Start a timer to record how long it takes you to read a page. Auto Reading will then use this time to determine how quickly to move through the page.

• Shorten Reading Time – During Auto Reading, you can click the right mouse button if you have already finished reading the page but Auto Reading has not yet moved to the next page. The shorter time will then be used for subsequent pages.

• Manual Mouse Reading – Move the camera freely with the mouse, turn pages by clicking the left or right side of the book, and zoom in or out using the mouse wheel.

• Add / remove bookmarks. Maximum 99 per book.

• Search – Search inside books with Ctrl+F or the middle mouse button. Search is not available in PDFs or in books created from folders of images. For supported books, search works across volumes. Click a result to jump straight to the page, with the match.

• View in full screen, or press Alt+Enter for a resizable window you can size freely.

Free eBook sources

• Convenient buttons provide quick access to selected websites where you can find free eBooks to read.

• The app remembers the folder you last added books from.
